We are Lutèce Dynamics

We are a team of five experienced researchers in optics and biology from well-know academic institutions (PSL, Inserm, Sorbonne University). By coupling our expertise on non invasive imaging and 2D/3D cell cultures, we propose an innovative solution to rediscover your samples through an amazing color prism reflecting its intrinsic activities.

Olivier Thouvenin

CEO

Olivier obtained a Masters in Biophysics from ENS Lyon and Paris 7 in 2014. In 2017, he graduated with a Ph.D. in Optical Microscopy, during wich he co-invented Dynamic FFOCT. After two years studying the role of cerebrospinal fluid mechanics in body axis formation in Zebrafish scoliosis models, he joined ESPCI Paris-PSL as assistant professor in Optics, where is now leading a group on label-free optical microscopy, data analysis and biophysics. In 2018, the journal Nature had identified him as one of the 11 international rising stars, and he received the Prix Edoard Branly en 2023 and the Prix des innovateurs from Region Ile de France in 2024.

Salvatore Azzollini

COO

Salvatore obtained a Master’s in Photonic from Politecnico de Milano in 2020 and a Ph.D. in Optical microscopy from Sorbonne University in 2024. Where he worked on the first applications of the microscope module proposed by Lutèce Dynamics to 3D cell cultures. He also has a one year experience in consulting firm proposing accounting solution via SAP services.

Kate Grieve

Scientific Advisor

Kate Grieve, research director and team leader at the Vision Institute, Paris; scientific director of the “Paris Eye Imaging” ocular imaging unit, at the Quinze Vingts National Ophtalmology Hospital, Paris; and president and founder of SharpEye startup, is an expert in optical imaging. Her research aims to develop non-invasive optical measurements of retinal cell structure and function in the living human eye, as well as in cell cultures in the lab. This development contributes to improving the diagnosis and monitoring of ophthalmological pathologies, as well as to evaluating the results of innovative therapies.

Sacha Reichman

Biology expert

Sacha Reichman, PhD is a biology expert and a group leader at the Vision Institute (Sorbonne University, Paris, France). He is an international expert of retinal organoid models. His group develops patient-based retinal disease models, high throughput drug screening test and tools to find and validate pharmacological treatment for retinal dystrophies such as retinitis pigmentosa, diabetic retinopathy or aged-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Tual Monfort

Optics & AI expert

With a strong background in optical imaging, Dr. Monfort specializes in developing novel optical imaging modalities to gain new insights in biology and is at the forefront of developing next-generation D-FFOCT imaging techniques for longitudinal live microscopy studies. With a PhD from the University of Southampton (2018) focusing on the development of label-free nonlinear imaging techniques and computer vision for cancer diagnosis, he built the first D-FFOCT prototype for Lutèce Dynamics. He is currently overseeing the optics division of the company.
